Danish Embassy in Dhaka Announces Vacancy for Trade Associate

The Embassy of Denmark in Bangladesh has announced a job opening for the position of Trade Associate in its Trade Council Department. The position will be offered on a 12-month time-limited local contract, with the possibility of extension for up to three years, subject to performance and institutional requirements.

According to the official announcement, the selected candidate is expected to join on 1 March 2026, pending security clearance. The workplace will be located at the Embassy of Denmark, Bay’s Edgewater, Gulshan-2, Dhaka. The application deadline is 10 January 2026 at 18:00 hrs PST.

The Embassy described itself as a high-paced and dynamic organization working to strengthen political, commercial, and green partnerships between Denmark and Bangladesh. The Trade Associate will play a key role in enhancing bilateral cooperation, particularly in maritime trade, food and agribusiness, renewable energy, water and waste management, and other environmental sectors.

Key responsibilities of the position include conducting market research and sector analysis, supporting meetings with Danish companies and stakeholders, responding to business inquiries, coordinating with Bangladeshi and Danish partners, organizing official meetings and events, assisting with Danish delegation visits, preparing meeting documentation, and contributing to commercial social media content in coordination with the Embassy’s Public Diplomacy and Communication team.

Applicants must hold a Bachelor’s degree in economics, commerce, business administration, engineering, or a related field from a recognized institution. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in international cooperation, market research, and an interest in trade, green solutions, maritime affairs, or renewable energy. Strong communication skills in English, proficiency in IT tools and social media platforms, and the ability to work both independently and in teams are essential.

The Embassy offers a multicultural and professional working environment with diverse responsibilities and opportunities for professional growth. The standard working week will be 37 hours, with 20 working days of paid annual leave. Salary will be determined based on qualifications and relevant experience.
