A high-level roundtable discussion focusing on energy-sector challenges, opportunities, and collaboration was held this evening under the initiative of the Egyptian Danish Business Council (EDBC), in cooperation with the Danish Energy Agency.

The meeting was convened by Danish Ambassador to Egypt, Lars Bo Møller, who brought together representatives from the Danish Energy Agency, the EDBC, and members of the Danish private sector to engage in an open dialogue on Egypt’s evolving energy landscape. The discussion addressed existing barriers in the sector, explored emerging opportunities, and examined how enhanced cooperation and shared expertise can benefit stakeholders from both countries.

The event was described as a clear example of economic diplomacy in practice, reflecting a whole-of-embassy approach by integrating diplomatic, energy, geopolitical, and trade perspectives. Participants emphasized the importance of coordinated engagement between public institutions and the private sector to support sustainable economic growth.

Members of the Egyptian Danish Business Council actively participated in the dialogue, contributing sector-specific insights and discussing ways to strengthen Danish private sector involvement in Egypt’s inclusive and sustainable social and economic development, particularly in relation to the green transition.

All parties expressed their commitment to continued cooperation aimed at improving regulatory and framework conditions, sharing technical knowledge, identifying market demand, and communicating new opportunities for sector-related investment and trade.

The roundtable further highlighted the deepening partnership between Denmark and Egypt, underscoring the tangible outcomes of the Strategic Partnership between the two countries.

The evening concluded with a shared optimism for future collaboration and sustained engagement in advancing energy cooperation and green development initiatives.
