Bangladesh Innovation Fair 2026 Moves Forward with High-Level Stakeholder Consultation

Dhaka, 21 January 2026 — The Ministry of Science and Technology (MoST) on Wednesday held a high-level stakeholder consultation at Novo Theatre, Dhaka, marking a significant milestone toward the launch of the inaugural Bangladesh Innovation Fair 2026. The initiative is envisioned as a flagship annual national platform designed to place innovation at the core of Bangladesh’s academic, research, startup, and industrial ecosystems.

The Bangladesh Innovation Fair aims to foster a sustainable, inclusive, and homegrown innovation culture by connecting ideas with investment, policy support, and market access. Aligned with the country’s socio-economic priorities, the Fair seeks to address national challenges through technology-driven and research-based solutions while unlocking new opportunities for growth and competitiveness.

Senior representatives from leading national and international institutions participated in the consultation, including HSBC, Standard Chartered, Grameenphone, FBCCI, Teletalk, IDCOL, and bKash. Their strong engagement and commitment highlighted a shared vision to build a vibrant, market-oriented innovation ecosystem that supports entrepreneurs, researchers, and industries alike.

According to MoST officials, the Innovation Fair will go beyond a conventional exhibition model. It will function as a collaborative platform featuring targeted sideline dialogues between innovators, investors, policymakers, and industry leaders. Special emphasis will be placed on supporting research organizations to accelerate high-potential ideas toward commercialization and real-world impact.

In addition, the Fair will host policy-focused discussions aimed at identifying and addressing structural and regulatory barriers that hinder innovation across Bangladesh’s socio-economic landscape. These dialogues are expected to contribute to actionable policy recommendations that strengthen the national innovation framework.

“The Bangladesh Innovation Fair 2026 is not just about showcasing ideas—it is about shaping the future of innovation in Bangladesh,” officials noted. “Through strategic partnerships and cross-sector collaboration, we aim to create lasting impact and position Bangladesh as a regional hub for innovation.”

The inaugural Fair is expected to bring together innovators, startups, researchers, investors, development partners, and policymakers from across the country, setting the foundation for a long-term national movement that drives sustainable innovation-led development.
