Bill Gates International School in the capital wore a festive look as it hosted Science Fair 2025 with great enthusiasm. The campus buzzed with activity as students presented a wide range of innovative projects, models and exhibitions, drawing admiration from guests, parents and teachers.

The fair was formally inaugurated on the morning of Saturday, 8 November on the school campus. As in previous years, the school authorities organized the event to promote scientific practice and innovative thinking among students.

The programme was graced by Retired Additional Secretary Mr. Kamal Uddin as the chief guest, while Additional DIG Md. Abdul Mabud and Mr. Saminur Rahman (SEVP) attended as the special guest. Also Senior Software Engineer Mr. Tanvir Anzum Shovon served as judges. Senior members of the school management, teachers and many parents were also present.

Following the ribbon-cutting ceremony, the guests visited the stalls one by one. Students briefed them on their projects and explained their practical applications. The guests listened attentively, asked questions and appreciated the students’ confident responses.

Projects on display at the fair included:

•Auto water Dispenser Machine

•Hydroelectric Generator

•Fire detector alarm and automatic extinguisher

•Carbon purification for factories

•Automatic street light

In his address, Chief Guest Mr. Kamal Uddin said that science should not remain confined to textbooks, but be applied to solve real-life problems. He praised the school for arranging such an event and urged students to become scientifically minded and morally upright citizens.

Founder Chairman Mr. Jahangir Alam said that through the science fair, students are gaining practical experience in teamwork, identifying problems and developing solutions. He added that the presence of parents and guests has further encouraged and inspired the students.

The day-long fair attracted a large number of visitors, including many parents. In the closing session, crests and certificates were awarded to students whose projects were selected as the best in different categories.
